You may be called to testify in a deposition, before a jury, judge or arbiter. And because we are usually "subpoenaed" to do so, most folks are not happy about it. Whether you are called to testify about facts or as an expert, the situation is stressful. To start with, the experience is unfamiliar. One of the greatest stresses in life is having to give a speech. In the witness situation, you are not only giving a speech according to specific unfamiliar rules but you will be likely verbally attacked in a cross examination format. This it, seems, adds insult to injury.
